Madonna in partnership with her manager Guy Oseary and New Evolution Ventures (NEV) announced the establishment of Hard Candy Fitness global gyms which will open in major cities around the world.
The first Hard Candy Fitness is a beautiful and uniquely designed 30,000 square foot space which is scheduled to open in Mexico City mid November in the exclusive Bosques de las Lomas area.
Madonna will be visiting the gym on the 29th of November for the official launch.

Throughout her career Madonna has been devoted to fitness and well being and has worked out in literally hundreds of gyms around the world. As a result, she has a strong vision on what the ideal exercise, dancing and work outenvironment should be.
The direction for how to bring that vision to the fitness world began to take shape during an initial meeting between Mark Mastrov, the innovator behind 24 Hour Fitness and Guy Oseary early in 2008.

Maggie Gyllenhaal was recently invited on The Graham Norton Show where she talked about her upcoming movie and dancing with Madonna. A very cute interview!

Here’s what she had to say…

Maggie Gyllenhaal: Yes, I danced with Madonna.
That’s what I hear. So how does that… Did you ask her? Did she ask you?
Maggie Gyllenhaal: I’m 32. I was like 8-9 when she was like-a-virgin-ing and doing all that. I was crazy about her. Somebody came up to me – this was like at the fourth party, at 4 o’clock in the morning – and said “Do you want to meet Madonna?” And I was like “Yes”. She was wearing a hat and looking super hot. She didn’t even say hi. She kinda like nodded at me and started dancing.
Well that’s creepy. Just nodding, not even a hello?
Maggie Gyllenhaal: It was not creepy. It was something else. It worked. Madonna can do things that no one else can do.
So she’s nodding and dancing?
Maggie Gyllenhaal: So she gets up and starts dancing and I’m drunk enough, that I’m just going with it. She’s like a crazy good dancer. I danced with her for 30 seconds or something and then she just lost me. She started dancing with other people. Two girlfriends were with me that night, then ran over and were like “You were just dancing with Madonna…”. We were talking about for a minute, we look over and my husband is totally dancing with Madonna, tottaly handeling it and way better than I did. I kinda thought “What’s better than that?”

According to the NY Post’s Page Six, Brahim Rachiki, a thirty-three year-old choreographer, is now dating Madonna.

The two met when Rachiki choreographed Madonna’s “Sticky & Sweet” tour, and since Jesus Luz is allegedly out of the picture, Rachiki and Madonna have already been spotted making out in public on many occasions (photos anyone?).
According to X17 Online, all the websites spreading the rumours have it wrong. Madonna would actually be dating a different backup dancer with the same first name — she’s been seeing the much younger Brahim Zaibat, a French b-boy dancer from Lyon. Friday night, they apparently went to the IFC theater in New York to see the French film Carlos by Olivier Assayas, which is a two-part mini-series about a Venezuelan terrorist.

It was all after a long journey by plane, then by car, and then having her car dying in the middle of the Morrocan road…

American pop diva Madonna‘s stalker has been ordered to stay at least 10 blocks away from her house.

Robert Linhart was arrested last month for scrawling messages outside her New York home, reports dailystar.co.uk. Few of the messages read – ‘Meet me please’ and ‘Tell me, yes or no’.

The 59-year-old former fireman was charged with criminal mischief, graffiti and possession of an icepick. He was later released on bail of $19,075 after he denied resisting arrest and weapons possession.

‘A condition of his release will be that he not be within 10 city blocks of Madonna’s address on Central Park West,’ said Laura Ward, Manhattan Supreme Court judge.

Madonna has gained some royal approval in the form of Princess Michael of Kent.

The two met when Madonna was doing research for her debut film as a director about Wallis Simpson.

Princess Michael said: “I found Madonna rather pleasant. My husband had no interest in meeting her. He is not one for showbusiness.”

The royal couple met Wallis in her later years, although Princess Michael was unable to provide Madonna with much information.

“The Duchess was too frail for tittle-tattle by the time I got to meet her. I did tell [Madonna] Wallis was one of those woman who stopped the traffic.

Madonna is known for being tough, and her publicist, Liz Rosenberg, is apparently just as tough. She gave strict instructions to reporters at Wednesday’s “Material Girl” fashion launch at Macy’s. What happened to one reporter who chose to disobey is the stuff of legend.

Rosenberg told reports they could each ask three questions of Madonna and her daughter Lourdes at the “Material Girl” event; and the questions had to be fashion related. According to reporters on scene, the “fashion-only” rule was to keep the press from asking about her newly arrested stalker.

Well, since reporters are known for being oh-so-obedient, one reporter from “The Insider” decided to overstep her bounds, and ask a non-fashion question. The question had nothing to do with Madonna or her stalker, though. The reporter asked, “What do you think about Ashton and Demi breaking up?”

According to witnesses, Madonna’s publicist “slapped the microphone out of the reporter’s hand.” Rosenberg even went so far as to point “at the reporter and [say], ‘Bad girl!’”

Q: How did you find Madonna for this film?

A: Madonna lived down the street from me, so she wasn’t “Madonna,” in quotes. I knew her from people who were in the downtown music scene. We started to audition more up-and-coming actresses who had done some films -– people like Ellen Barkin and Melanie Griffith and Jennifer Jason Leigh and Kelly McGillis, who had just made one or two movies and were getting known. But even though the film is a fairy tale, in a sense, it needed to be grounded in some kind of authenticity. We didn’t want actors putting on costumes and playing downtown.

Q: You wanted someone who genuinely embodied it, rather than an actor who would be playing at it or pretending it?
A: Right. And she hadn’t really done a movie before. She’d played in a band in the background of “Vision Quest,” whatever. But it wasn’t really an acting role. I hoped that because she is a performer and she had such an interesting persona, I could capture that on film somehow. And that does involve a lot of acting. People sometimes think, “Oh, it’s just being.” But it’s not. When you have to say lines and hit marks and get your lighting and repeat it 20 times from different angles, it’s acting.

Q: Given her inexperience, did you have to make a case for casting her in the film?
A: Well, yes. She had to do a bunch of screen tests. But it was the early days of MTV, and she happened to have a video that got a lot of rotation, because there just weren’t a lot of music videos at that time. I think it was for “Lucky Star.” So the the Orion people out in L.A. saw that and liked the way she looked. She was also helpful in auditions for the actor that was going to play her boyfriend. Somewhere, in a carton in my basement, I have Madonna and Bruce Willis doing an early screen test for that.

Madonna ‘stalker’ says he ‘won’t stop’ until he meets her

The 59-year-old retired FDNY firefighter busted twice in four days outside Madonna’s Upper West Side apartment was charged today with stalking the pop icon, and he said he “won’t stop” until he actually meets the singer.

Robert Linhart appeared in Manhattan Supreme Court, where he was charged with criminal weapons possession — a Leatherman knife and a pocket knife — as well as disorderly conduct, making graffiti, possessing a graffiti instrument and resisting arrest.

After he was arrested, Linhart told cops he was allowed to be outside Madonna’s Upper West Side home.

“I can be here. This is police brutality. I have a right to do this. I am not doing anything wrong,” he told cops, according to court papers.

“I keep running into Madonna.” he added. “I saw her in 1992 and I’d actually like to meet her in person. I won’t stop until I actually meet Madonna.”

Linhart even said arresting him won’t stop him from returning.

“I’m going to go right back there [Madonna's apartment] and do it again,” he said, according to court papers.

Prosecutors said they recovered an ice pick in his car.

Linhart had been stalking Madonna’s apartment for several days, witnesses said.

A 59-year-old retired FDNY firefighter yesterday was busted for the second time in four days outside Madonna’s Upper West Side apartment, where he displayed signs professing his love for the pop icon.

“Madonna, I need you,” said a sign strapped to the top of Robert Linhart’s SUV. “Tell me yes or no,” another sign said. “If it’s yes, my dream will come true. If it’s no, I will go. XXX.”

The answer conveyed by Madonna’s security people was a definite no. Cops wound up handcuffing Linhart and hauling him to the 20th Precinct station house.

He’s charged with criminal weapons possession — a Leatherman knife and a pocket knife — as well as disorderly conduct, making graffiti, possessing a graffiti instrument and resisting arrest. Linhart had been stalking Madonna’s apartment for several days, witnesses said. Cops on Saturday busted him on charges of obstructing governmental administration, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and resisting arrest.

“We thought he was homeless. But then we saw he had a car,” said Angel Melendez, a security guard in the neighborhood.

The Toyota SUV contained artist equipment, a firefighters’ uniform and a Paris tour guide. One of Linhart’s signs suggested he has traveled widely to stalk to the aging pop star. It said he’d seen Madonna “this year” in Prague — she gave a concert there in 2009 — and added, “Meet me, please.”

Linhart retired from the FDNY in 1998, a department spokesman said. For at least the past decade, he has lived in Huletts Landing, NY, a rural town on Lake George.

He’s only the latest in a long line of wacky Madonna-wannabe beaus.

A bodyguard in the 1990s shot and wounded Robert Hoskins, who stalked her in California and threatened to slice her “from ear to ear” if she didn’t become his wife.
Madonna testified at Hoskins’ trial in 1996, despite admitting that being in the same room with him made her “sick to my stomach.” Hoskins was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
When Madonna performed in Madison Square Garden in 2004, security guards ejected an alleged stalker who had bought a ticket to the show. And in 2000, her then-boyfriend, movie director Guy Ritchie, was accused of assault in London for slugging a stalker who admitted he was “a bit obsessed” with the star.

“Can’t we get this crane any higher? Why won’t this crane do as I say?!”

That was a frustrated but still merry Madonna last Friday in Central Park, directing the final day of shooting her labor of love, “W.E.”

Madonna as director seems to have found herself – another reinvention. She was dressed in running shoes, an unglamorous tracksuit, with her hair pulled up and sporting prim eyeglasses. She wore no makeup. For all the unflattering photos the tabloids and gossip sites love to use, she looked quite fresh. (Maybe not working out as much helps?)

Madonna was in full control but apparently getting along with her entire crew, many of whom were British. (Take that, Guy Ritchie!)

“She’s nothing like I expected,” said one member of the crew. “Not only does she know what she’s doing, she’s nice about it. And when she doesn’t know, she doesn’t pretend – she listens and absorbs.” Another said: “This has been a good experience for her, I’d say it was No Drama Madonna.”

Two of Madonna’s female stars were on hand, Abbie Cornish, looking sexy in stiletto heels and a cinched trench coat, and Andrea Riseborough, who was costumed and made up to resemble the late Duchess of Windsor, in a gray suit. The likeness was uncanny. (The movie switches back and forth between the love story of Wallis Simpson and King Edward VIII – who gave up his throne for her – and a modern-day tale of a girl who identifies with the Duchess.)

At one point, a nearby band was noisily rehearsing for a concert in the park. Madonna pulled off her headphones, jogged toward the Bandshell (followed by 15 crewmembers and about 200 onlookers). She asked the band if they could hold off for about an hour. “I’ll be done by then, I promise.” She returned to the set giggling, “You know what they were called? Ween. I don’t know, I think I’m just overtired, I find that hilarious.” One of the crew asked how she’d gotten them to stop. “Well, I had to beat them up. We had a big rumble. Everybody knows what a tough broad I am.”

Yeah, tough. All five feet four of her. She looked more like an elf than one of the most iconic showbiz figures of all time.

Then it was back to business. The troublesome crane? Madonna eyed it warily. “It was so expensive. I’m going have to tour again to pay for that damn thing.” Then she grinned. “Hmm … you know, Ween has a crane, and I think theirs is bigger. I wonder if they’d do a girl another favor?”

In the end, the sweeping skyline shot that Madonna wanted simply couldn’t be achieved. She took it like a trooper and mingled with her “guys” until all the equipment was packed up and ready to go. She said, “You know, it’s funny, this is the last day of shooting, and we’re shooting the last scene. The first day we shot, in England, we shot the very first scene of the movie. Everything else was out of sequence, the way it usually is when you make movies. It’s unique for it to happen this way. I hope it’s a good sign.”

Madonna is currently directing a film called W.E., which has some scenes in Central Park. Unfortunately, some of the filming took place September 17, the same day as a Ween concert, and the director found their soundcheck distracting. According to Hidden Track via Gene Ween’s Facebook, Madonna herself ran up to the stage and demanded to speak to the band. They didn’t come out.
The pop icon bought a few minutes during her conversation with [Ween's manager] as soundcheck was delayed until approximately 5:30.

Studio chiefs were desperate to cast Cruise in the role of mobster Henry Hill and Madonna was wanted to play his wife – until Ray Liotta and Lorraine Bracco won over Scorsese and the movie’s producers.

Speaking to GQ magazine on Goodfellas’ 20th anniversary, producer Irwin Winkler admits, “Tom Cruise was discussed. Marty wanted Ray… Frankly I thought we could do a lot better and then me and my wife were having dinner one night in a restaurant and lo and behold, Ray Liotta came over to me. He said, ‘Look, I know you don’t really want me for it, but…’ And he sold me on the role right that evening. I called Marty the next morning.”

Bracco beat out Madonna for the role of Karen Hill, despite Scorsese initially favoring the Material Girl.

Fellow producer Barbara De Fina says, “Madonna seemed to be in the mix. I remember that we went to see her in the play Speed-the-Plow. Marty said hello to her afterwards. Can you imagine? Tom Cruise and Madonna? But Marty can get a performance out of almost anyone.”

Peeping dourly through all that tat is Gaga’s limited range of facial expressions. Her videos repeatedly thrust that blank, lugubrious face at the camera and us; it’s creepy and coercive. Marlene and Madonna gave the impression, true or false, of being pansexual. Gaga, for all her writhing and posturing, is asexual. Going off to the gym in broad daylight, as Gaga recently did, dressed in a black bustier, fishnet stockings and stiletto heels isn’t sexy – it’s sexually dysfunctional.

Compare Gaga’s insipid songs, with their nursery-rhyme nonsense syllables, to the title and hypnotic refrain of the first Madonna song and video to bring her attention on MTV, Burning Up, with its elemental fire imagery and its then-shocking offer of fellatio. The perfect school for free in Malawi

The architectural brains behind Madonna’s new all-girl academy in Malawi

won the pop star’s trust by creating a boarding school blueprint which doesn’t resemble a gloomy prison for kids.

German-born Markus Dochantschi was introduced to the star by her Raising Malawi charity director and he offered to create a plan for the perfect school for free.

He tells Architectural Digest magazine that Madonna was very specific about what she wanted her Raising Malawi Academy for Girls to look like.

He says, “We were asked to design a prototype boarding school replicable by others even in different countries, without repeating the typical British-style school that you see in former British colonies.”

“The design is not just about aesthetics and materials but about helping to understand the society you’re building for. For example, in Africa, you realise the importance of open space, of being outside and understanding nature. So we designed a very open pedestrian campus.”

Dochantschi tells the publication the school will cater for 450 students from all over Malawi - and he reveals the pop star is keen for all the children who start the academy to finish with honours.

He adds, “Traditionally, a lot of girls drop out in eighth grade, shortly before they get married… Madonna hopes that the school will instill pride in their homeland, and that educated young women will understand the importance of remaining in Malawi, supporting their own communities.”

The architect also reveals Madonna broke ground on the school with a shovel which featured the inscription ‘Dare to dream’.

Madonna is so hands-on with the production of “W.E.” she’s delivering her own furniture to the set. Madge is directing the film, which tracks a young, married New Yorker (Abbie Cornish) who’s obsessed with the story of King Edward VIII’s abdication. “W.E.” started shooting in London in July, and sources said Madonna – who is reportedly financing the picture herself – saved cash by bringing her own furniture from her house across the pond to use on the set. Her rep wouldn’t confirm the furniture move but said she was involved in “all aspects” of the movie.

In June, Madonna acknowledged its high cost to Interview: “Once I started casting and planning and working with my production designer, I went, “Oh, [bleep], I wrote a script about a bunch of rich people. That’s going to be great for the budget.” Filming has now moved to New York, particularly around Sotheby’s, where Cornish’s character works.

Madonna has been auditioning dancers for the launch party of her new junior clothing brand Material Girl.

The fashion label, which is aimed at pree-teen and teenage girls, is a collaboration between the Queen of Pop and her 13-year-old daughter Lourdes. Around 150 dancers auditioned, but only ten will be chosen to perform at the showcase of Material Girl at Macy's, New York on 22 September. In describing the label, Madonna said: "A Material Girl is a girl that is interested in fashion and interested in music and interested in fun and has a sense of humour, and is an adventurous human being." 17-year-old Gossip Girl actress, Taylor Momsen, is the face of Material Girl.

Madonna is the secret director of Miu Miu’s a/w 2010 campaign film.

The campaign film for Miu Miu’s autumn/winter 2010 collection has been doing the rounds for a couple of months now and we fell for it as soon as we saw it. It stars models Lindsey Wixson, Siri Tollerød, Ginta Lapina, and Daphne Groeneveld, all decked out in the lust-have embellished dresses that have caused such a stir paired with kitten heels, patent bags and matching eye shadow.

The girls laugh, play and throw shapes to some bass-heavy dance music backed by strobe lights. And it’s just emerged where they got their moves from – Madonna was on set giving them tips.

Apparently Madonna rocked up onto the set of the Miu Miu campaign shoot to meet photographers Mert Atlas and Marcus Pigott and take them for dinner. But she got distracted and ended up directing the video instead.

Ginta Lapina told Love magazine, ‘We were supposed to shoot a video, so Madonna said she wanted to direct it. They said she could do it but they weren’t going to pay her and she started laughing. She put on her iPod and taught us moves and we shot the video for two hours.’

David Guetta is planning on re-releasing his smash album “One Love” and he’s getting help from the Queen of Pop.

According to the Daily Star, Madonna is set to be featured on the upcoming repackage. The French DJ superstar went into the studio with the 52-year-old pop queen for a new song.

“It was the first time I was properly star-struck,” Guetta said about the experience.

Guetta and Madonna previously collaborated on a remix for her last single, “Revolver.” Originally an electro-pop track featuring Lil Wayne off her “Celebration” compilation, Guetta’s “One Love” remix of the track earned Madonna a top 5 single on the dance chart.

Guetta is working on getting other artists to collaborate for the new edition of “One Love,” including Rihanna. “I am talking to Rihanna about doing a song but nothing is confirmed,” he said.

“One Love” already earned Guetta the worldwide hits “When Love Takes Over” with Kelly Rowland, “Sexy B—-” with Akon, and “Getting’ Over You” with Chris Willis, Fergie and LMFAO.

The upcoming special edition of “One Love” is set to be released on October 2nd.

A clothing company is taking legal action against Madonna, claiming the material girl has ripped off the “Material Girl” trademark.

L.A. Triumph, Inc. claims in a new lawsuit it’s been marketing “Material Girl” clothing since 1997, selling millions of bucks worth of threads under its trademark.

According to the documents, obtained by TMZ, Madonna, aka Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone, has jacked the name “Material Girl” for her junior clothing line Material Girl Brand — which launched this year.

L.A. Triumph wants a declaration from a federal judge that Madonna’s use of “Material Girl” creates “deception” in the marketplace.

In addition to the declaration, L.A. Triumph wants the judge to order Madonna and her company to turn over all of the profits they’ve made from their clothing line.
